Amanda Kight, RA, NCARB, 36 CFR 61 Historic Architect

Associate, Senior Project Architect

Amanda grew up closer to Toledo, but was brought to Metro Detroit while attending Lawrence Technological University. She received her Master of Architecture in 2013 and joined the KDG team in 2014. Her four years of previous experience is primarily in multi-family and senior living projects. She was also an adjunct professor for leadership and an academic advisor for first-year architecture students at Lawrence Tech for several years.

She enjoys being part of collaborative design teams and working closely with clients and consultants. Taking a project from concept through construction and being involved in several phases of project is one of her favorite benefits from working at KDG. In early 2018, she completed her Architectural Registration Exams and is currently a licensed architect in the States of Michigan and Ohio. She never anticipated pursuing historic renovation in college, but it has quickly become a significant portion of her project portfolio. In 2018, she was added to the list of Historical Architects for the State of Michigan. Since then she has expanded that qualification to Ohio and become a seasoned expert in filing and managing Ohio historic tax credit projects. These projects are unique and rewarding, and she appreciates learning from the new challenges each one has to offer. She believes that her “work hard, play hard” mindset is what makes KDG such a great work environment for her. Amanda has several years of experience working in Detroit and now heads KDG’s Toledo office.
