The Vinton Building
As the Architect, Interior Designer and Historic Consultant on Detroit’s Vinton Building, Kraemer Design Group renovated the Albert Kahn-designed structure into 21 luxury apartment units and restaurant space. Built in 1917 and listed on the National Register of Historic Places, the former office building underwent restoration to the facade, first-floor lobby and all residential corridors. Our team ensured that the window replacement for the building remained historically accurate, designed a new exterior canopy and replaced the ground-floor storefront to meet strict historic standards. Floors two through eleven each have two 1,400 square-foot 2-bedroom, 2.5-bath apartments. The penthouse level is a 3-bedroom layout with 2.5 baths and an internal staircase to a private roof deck with stunning views of downtown Detroit.
