Detroit Savings Bank

As the Architect, Interior Designer & Historic Consultant on 1212 Griswold—also known as the Detroit Savings Bank—Kraemer Design Group turned a nationally registered historic building into 56 high-end apartments units, as well as commercial space. A notable part of restoring the exterior of the building was re-creating the roof cornice along two facades. Built in 1895 and located in Detroit’s historic Capitol Park district, 1212 Griswold is the city’s oldest existing high-rise building.
