KDG

1201-1217 Woodward

As the Architect, Interior Designer & Historic Consultant on 1201-1217 Woodward, Kraemer Design Group transformed two uniquely connected historic buildings—formerly known as the S.S. Kresge Store #1 and R.H. Travers Co. Building—into modern retail and office space, including the brand house for sportswear retailer, Under Armour. The upper two floors of 1217 Woodward are restored but vacant, while printing and graphic design companies Fathead and Zenith and advertising company Gas Station TV (GSTV) occupy the fourth through ninth floors of 1201 Woodward—the latter of which KDG completed a total office buildout. The facades of each building underwent extensive restoration, and the interiors were almost entirely renovated. To commemorate the building’s days as a notable 5&10 store, a custom-designed 5&10 light fixture was installed in the new office entrance lobby
