KDG was presented the challenge of redefining and branding the hamburger house icon into an upscale urban chic dining experience. Literally moving across the park, the new Hunter House Plus occupied the first floor of the Hilton Garden Inn, also designed by KDG. KDG was given complete design jurisdiction over all interior finishes, lighting, furniture selection, millwork, and bar design. The back bar consists of acrylic panels illuminated with a programmable LED lighting system that changes color. The restaurant seats 70 patrons within a 1,600-square-foot floor plan including an entrance canopy adjacent to an outdoor patio. The ceiling adds drama to the space with suspended curved panels edged with a crown molding and finished in a metallic paint. The design mixes traditional elements in a contemporary manor to blend with the hotel interior yet maintain its own image.
