This project consisted of the first and second floor tenant improvement build-outs to increase their general office space. The concept of ‘Place’ was utilized to develop the design for the renovations. The city of Ann Arbor, MI creates a sense of place on multiple levels. As a college town, Ann Arbor attracts a diverse population of individuals that live, work, and/or play within the city’s confines. Districts throughout the city offer up a different sense of place by offering a unique experience for each individual. The GAPO office design emulates the idea of place of Ann Arbor by creating districts throughout the office space. Whether you want to grab a bite to eat at the Kerrytown District, take a stroll down Liberty Street, or relax and check out the sites at the Main Street District, the GAPO office creates a distinct experience for each employee. The build-out included open office space, conference rooms, private offices, lounge areas, kitchenettes, private phone rooms, and interview rooms. Incorporating the Google brand and color palette throughout, we added decorative lighting fixtures, energy efficient retro-fit lighting and water efficient plumbing to assist in achieving a LEED-CI Silver status.
