Kraemer Design Group renovated the Greektown Casino high limit area, The Pantheon Club, in the Fall of 2008. The primary challenge that the KDG design team faced in this project was creating a sense of separation and grand entry into the Pantheon Club while still providing enticing views of the space from the main gaming floor.
The new design solution features a screen wall with metalwork infill resembling olive branches. At the center of the wall, a large column under an expansive coffered dome marks the entrance point from above while a highly detailed terrazzo emblem marks the floor under the dome. Upon entry, a reception desk backed by a curved glass wall and glass enclosed host area greet guests. In both elements, the glass is frosted to replicate the olive branch design found in the metalwork screens. Additional metalwork screens create privacy for the VIP tables. Throughout the Pantheon Club, mosaic tile feature walls are flanked by fluted columns and topped with authentically detailed entablatures. Coved ceiling recesses defining spaces within the Pantheon Club are finished with decorative acoustical panels and illuminated by large scale, faux alabaster light fixtures and color LED lights at the perimeter. The renovation also includes new carpet, wall covering, and both mosaic tile and wood wainscot, extending into the Pantheon Lounge as well. The restrooms offer marble toilet partitions and translucent stall doors as well as glass vessel sinks.
